Supporting Wiltshire Beekeepers in 2024

We are very pleased to be sponsoring the 2024 Wiltshire Bee and Honey Day in Devizes for our 4th consecutive year!

This year's event takes place in the Devizes Corn Exchange on Saturday 12th October from 10 am to 4 pm.

A family-wide range of activities is returning! Youngsters will have the chance to roll candles for Christmas, and explore the inside of a virtual beehive, whilst adults can sample some delicious mead and honey beer courtesy of Wadworth brewery. Bee-themed stalls will also offer food, drinks, and even beekeeping kits.

Talks on all things honey and bees include the medicinal benefits of honey, and getting started on becoming a beekeeper. Whether you are an experienced beekeeper or a lover of nature with a general interest, there is something for everyone!

Eden’s solar farms foster habitats for both solitary and honey bees. If none exist already, we invite local beekeepers to establish apiaries inside the solar farm itself or on the surrounding land to benefit from the wildflower meadows created around the panels. Beekeepers are already producing honey at many of the Eden team’s UK solar farms! 

This approach is integral to our upcoming North Wiltshire solar projects at Leigh Delamere, Forest Gate and Red Barn.
